I’m Aims, the owner and curator of Indy Bindy Fabrics. This fabric store is the culmination of many different experiences that have lead to my (and hopefully your) ultimate happy place!
I’ve loved fabric and sewing for as long as I can remember. When I was two years old, my mum would make matching, frilly-bottomed outfits for me and my besties. I watched her over the years and eventually started my own sewing journey!
I’m an Aussie, however I have family scattered all over the world, who sparked my love of travel. Wherever I went, I was drawn to textiles and always came back with treasured pieces in my suitcase!
As for Japan, I first lived there as a 16 year old exchange student. Little did I know that was the start of a life-long love of my second home! Japan would draw me back time and again.
When my second son – Indy – was born in Tokyo the idea for this fabric shop was also born. So it seemed right to give the store the nickname his big brother gave him “Indy Bindy”.
